Back to Sword: My to-do list

On: Monday, January 11, 2010

Alrighty. I haven't updated this in months, but I'm bored, so I guess it's a start to kick off the new year... if anyone even reads these things. xD I've played Aion for a good amount of time before my friend kinda stopped playing, and then I had no one to play with. <_> Maybe I'll post some updated screenies of Aion some time. I play it on and off, just like I am with Sword, so yeah. HERE I AM AGAIN.

Anyway, WHAT TO DO. I still have a ton of things I need to get done on Sword. Let's see... I think I'll start off with experting my scout, Eurian, since I last left him at Vet LV8. He's about 10% until Vet LV9 so he shall be the healing slave of my two other vet characters that are well on their way to expert... and I must say, I'm experting the weirdest characters: Claire and Garcia. First Lorch, now them. Who knew. After these two, I need to start experting more useful characters. Claire is almost at the halfway mark of Vet LV4, and Garcia is closer with a grand total of 20% into Vet LV6.

With that said, I think I'll be trying to get a head start on Errac quests for the expert stances. My first targets are Equites and Arnis. Since I don't have an expert musketeer or Grace, Flintlock will have to wait. Afterwards, I think I'll pick up Hanging Guard/Tested Guard for Kyral and Claire, and Rapiere for Garcia. I already have the Sagittarius and Leo symbols and some Great Stones, so I'm pretty much set with Equites and Hanging Guard/Tested Guard. Kinda sucks because those two are like... the cheapest symbols. Hopefully, once I buy more OoPs boxes, the more rare symbols will drop. I may also want to grab Selva and Nar along the way as well. So... I'm sure I'll have LOADS of fun with that.

What else... ah, yes. I've been reading up on the latest Granado Espada news, and something caught my eye: several new expert stances. What REALLY caught my eye was the Prelude stance for Vincent (YEEEEESSSS~) which looks totally awesome since it's kinda like Minstrel and Serenade (mostly Serenade) clusterfucked into one stance. He can auto attack in it as well! Yay. I still need to craft a 100e Lute for him. o_x I think I'll make that my second priority. Only because Vince is my favorite character.

Another stance that piqued my interest was Lorch's Duel Blaster stance. Huzzah. Since I unexpectedly trained Lorch to expert... that's one hassle out of the way. Now you're not so useless anymore. Of course, Grace gets a similar version, with hers being more offense oriented, but Lorch's new traps look like they'd be pretty kickass in PvP. Now... LET'S TO HOPING LORCH GETS A NEW COSTUME SOMETIME IN THE FUTURE AS WELL.

Jose and Claire's Demolition Burst/Tested Burst looks pretty nifty as well, but I'm not a huge fan of cannons unless I really have to use them, like in PvP.

Other things on my to-do list:
~ Chip DR on my Scout Le Rouge.
~ Expert my musketeer Clive, and eventually Master INT Catherine. (though I'll probably switch to STR Catherine since she'll be easier to solo.)
~ +6 my equips. (+7 once I'm... uh, richer.)
~ Get an Expert MA/Soho the Fighter.
~ Craft some 32 AR weapons. (Lute, Blunt, Sword, Dagger)
~ zzzzzz... AA... zzzz....
~ Craft 2x Elite Candlesticks.
~ Grab me a Fighter, Wizard, and Elementalist Le Rouge
~ Dream that I actually succeed at completing all of the above.

Well, I should probably wrap things up. Tomorrow is the end of my winter break (nooooooo...), and I need to get some shut eye. Toodles!

Aion screenies

On: Saturday, October 3, 2009

Well, so far I'm liking the game. I finally got my wings last night, but I couldn't really get the hang of them and I went kersplat. 8|

Here are some screenies of my Asmodian ranger. As you can see from the chat boxes, this game is already teeming with gold farmers and botters.

Here's Adel showing off his wings, both front and back. You can customize them later with different looks, but apparently the people who didn't get the collector's edition will have to buy the new wings for a hefty amount of kinah (the in-game currency). At the beginning, flight only lasts for a minute, but at later levels, the time limit increases and certain potions and other items can make your flight time unlimited. Flying is mainly for PvP and certain quests, as not many places allow you to use your wings unless you're in the Abyss, which is an area where Elyos and Asmodians are free to kill each other. You may also dye you characters' equipment. In my case, I chose a purple/white color scheme.

The eyes of Asmodians turn red when they get ready for battle. The abyss fungus I'm shooting in the second screenie was the first quest that requires you to fly. Of course, I failed the quest not too shortly after I took this screenie because I wasn't paying attention to my flight timer...

The game's customization is also pretty good. I was hoping for a little bit more such as choosing where to place certain tattoos or markings but overall you'll be spending a good amount of time creating your character. You can also change your character's voice from a selection of sets. Much like Granado Espada, if you hate the English voices, you can change the voice packs to either Japanese, Korean, or Chinese/Taiwanese.

Midget monkey version of Chun-Li anyone?

The game also has a chain combo system where certain attacks can link with other attacks. At the beginning, most skills only chain into one other skill, but at higher levels the skills branch out at a much wider range. An example is the Scout/Ranger/Assassin skill Swift Edge ---> Soul Slash.

I'll upload better ones later. I'm not very adept at taking screenshots. .-.

Uh-oh... Aion, noooooo!

I'm addicted to Aion now.

WHO DIDN'T SEE THIS COMING?!

New Veterans and a little history behind the names

On: Thursday, September 3, 2009

Elza reached her goal to be Veteran alongside Clive, only to face him in a showdown in the process. For those of you who don't know, the names Clive and Elza come from a game called Suikoden. Below are what they look like in the game. If only female Musketeers had blonde hair... then both of them would definitely look like the actual characters.

(The following information is from Gensopedia)
Elza was formerly a gunner in the Howling Voice Guild. She fled the Guild after winning a duel between her and Kelley and was pursued by Clive until he caught up to her in Sajah Village in Highland, where she lost a duel between them and was killed.

The Howling Voice Guild is a powerful espionage and assassination guild in the Holy Kingdom of Harmonia. Guild members often have one of three important tasks entrusted to them: to gather information on targets, protect them, or assassinate them. The guild is often used by Harmonian priests in order to manipulate the People's Faction and/or the Temple Faction. Though known for the powerful, unique weapons their members carry – guns, and the gun powder that powers them - the Howling Voice Guild also specialises in other fields, such as toxicology. Members are raised from childhood onwards in the guild, never leaving save when on a mission, each apprentice training to become part of the elite gunner classes. A select few may receive an ‘internship’ in the guild, usually those who belong to powerful families within Harmonia. The training of the Howling Voice Guild is known to be extremely rigorous, and fatality rates run high; not all apprentices survive to adulthood. For Harmonians not of First Class Rank, the Howling Voice Guild is often one of the only ways for them to gain power, as the Guild chooses to rank its members on skill rather than social class.

The current guild leader is Clive.

Aaaaaand... after fighting off hoards of annoying haxing skeleton lancemen, Adel finally endured and made Veteran within a few days. To celebrate his newly acquired status, he steals Lysaria's undead staff from her.

The name Adel was just a name of one of my original OC's. He is an antagonist and a spellcaster of various magics, but I don't really feel like going into detail with him because I'm lazy. xD

Inglourious Basterds

On: Tuesday, August 25, 2009

...was a great movie. I'm still wondering what's up with the misspelled movie title though. Stiglitz and Donowitz a.k.a. Bear Jew were my favorites, even though Stiglitz didn't stay alive for the entire movie. Donowitz at least stayed alive and died epicly until the end 8D~ Brad Pitt's character, Aldo Raine, was funny but his southern accent got really annoying afterwards. The little Italian bit with him was hilarious though. What was weird about the movie was the head scalping. It just looked... weird. Not really gorey, just... plain weird, lol.

I love Quentin Tarantino's movies. *_* I think this movie is tied with Hot Fuzz on my list. I lurved it.

Aaaand, on the topic of Sword. Nothing much on my end, just trying to powerlevel my noobs. Right now I'm leveling Adel the Wizard. Once he hits vet, I'll level him and Lysaria, his Wizard counterpart, with my halfway-to-expert Scout. Dual expert Wizards is gonna be awesome~ Now I just need an Emilia the Sage...

Eurian the Pimpin' Scout

On: Sunday, August 16, 2009

And no Al, it's not "Urine", it's "Yu-ri-AHN" D8<... I hate when I start calling him Urine ever since you mentioned it. Now I wish I could change his freakin' name.

Anyway, after a month or two of saving and old equipment selling, here he is pimpin' the Le Rouge look everyone seems to be sporting now. There goes all of my money... too bad there isn't any DR on it at the moment. Now I have to spend another assload of cash just to chip the stupid thing. I'm gonna try and get it to +6 if I can. Isn't it sad that my Vet scout is better geared than my Experts? I think I'll try and invest in a fighter one next.

Eurian is currently at 54% into Vet. Just past the halfway mark~ HURRY UP YOU FAG AND GET EXPERT ALREADY. I wish you could just solo scouts to Expert. Too bad you'd have to like... invest in a +7 dagger with 40 attack, 100% racial mods, and 150+ elemental damage to even have the scout do any damage.

Expert... LORCH?! WTF... and Vet Claire

On: Monday, August 10, 2009

Here's Lorch and his Brokeback buddy with Kyral in the back plotting to kill them in their sleep in the near future.

WHY IS HE EXPERT. I DON'T KNOW. I guess it's because he was the closest one out of my whole barracks to hit it. Lorch spent mindless hours in Via Fluvial before grinding the last 10% in Deprimida Valley. One of my friends who now plays sGE, is starting to call me the Ambiguously Gay Family. ;A; His horrifying shorts frighten Al. I need to find her when I get the chance...

Aaaaand, this is a little late since Claire hit Vet like 2 weeks ago, but whatever. It was pretty easy soloing her to Vet due to her splash damage and speed. Here's the cute little loli with her pedobear kicking bandit butt in Topolo Durga.

Trying to take good screenshots is hard. .-.
